Hi SPrime

I tried, CWM, and stock recovery and each time I see

On the N7 it says

sideload started.. now send the package you want to apply to the device ...

on Mark's Unified Toolkit (donated version) screen , it says

Device detected in ADB mode
Device serial no. is  xxxxxxx
Waiting for adb mode

And these screens stay on.....and ....on.

It looks like the N7 can not receive the file being sideloading by Toolkit

Similarly, when trying to sideload in TWRP, I got an error "unable to mount "/system"
And when trying to reboot from TWRP, it says that no OS installed in the system
As I recall I did wipe out data, application, user file and may be that is why I no longer have the OS on the N7

During my research I found the following suggestions on Android Porn. However after downloading the software and following the instructions  I still can not get into fastboot mode. Any suggestions would be very much welcome

"Android Porn – How to break and restore a Nexus 7 to stock Android
When I tried to restore Android Stock I got the device in a state where it just showed failed boot and no adb connections possible.

After some heavy googleing I could restore it like this:

downloaded and installed android sdk: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
export platform-tools directory to path (only for unix oses)
boot Nexus7 into “fastboot” screen (with big green start box)
verified osx did detect the device “fastboot devices” -> should list a device with status “fastboot”
downloaded 4.3 factory image from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#nakasi
extracted tgz file (do not extract the zip file that lies beside the flash scripts
executed “flash-all.sh” (Edit: the flash-all script is located in the nexus firmware tgz!)
During all of this I also saw an inconsistent reliability of the adb/fastboot connection. Sometimes I needed to unplug and replug the nexus 7 a couple of times until it got recognized by adb/fastboot and could successfully be flashed.…"

How do I "verified osx did detect the device “fastboot devices” -> should list a device with status “fastboot" ? This is where I got stucked

HELP HELP
I tried updating using Mark Skippen Unified Tool Kit and got this error message
error executing updater binary in Zip "data/media/0/sideload.zip
So I tried Wugfresh which my N7 can not get into adb mode
Try again with Unified Toolkit and somehow it keeps booting in TWRP
I decided to wipe data and try to load factory reset in TWRP. It keeps saying "uploading partition details.. for a long time  30-40 minutes"
I decided to power off to reboot
It keeps rebooting  in TWRP ...
I can not get back to the usual screen to use Toolkit to recover my files
I have N7 2012, unlocked and rooted

DESPERATELY NEED HELP, PLEASE

In Twrp screen I nolonger have the recovery button

I tried to use Wugfresh 1.7.6 latest (today) version but it does not work because Toolkit said that adb device not found
do you have the zip file on the Nexus? Have you tried to just Flash the zip file thru TWRP and not sideloading?

I do not have the zip file on the N7, As of now my PC does not see the N7 so I can not manually copy the file to N7.
It continues to boot up in TWRP and I can boot into bootloader through TWRP
====
Try again sideloading using Unified Toolkit with CWM and got the following error
Error in  /tmp/update.zip (Status 7)

I tried to reboot through TWRP, it states that there is no OS on the device and ask me to confirm the reboot

Do you use Mark Skippen's original toolkit or the new "Unified ToolKit" ?

I did flash with TWRP, using Mark Skippen's toolkit, rebooted, then used option 4 in the Toolkit to flash SuperSU and it was done. All of my apps and data remained unaffected. The ToolKit just takes a lot of the work out of sideloading and flashing zips. BTW, I simply downloaded the OTA and did not receive it from Google update on the tablet.

I just flashed the OTA to my Nexus 7 2012 by sideload using TWRP and you will lose root, but it is an easy process to restore with Mark Skippen's or Wugfresh's toolkits.

Hi
After owning the original Nexus since July 2012, I still feel like a newbie, so I always ask for help. Hope you don't mind

Will the applications be lost also ?
If so can I recover these applications from my nandroid back up using Wugfresh tool kit ?

Can you give me step by step guides ?

Is the OTA you referred to this file ?13088e35942c77e4752aa1fdf51d54472509b941.signed-nakasi-KRT16O-from-JWR66Y.13088e35.zip
Since the file name is too long, can I rename it such as Update.zip ?
Where do I put this file before sideloading in TWRP ?
How do I side load ? using TWRP ?
Mine is Nexus 2012 unlocked and rooted with 4.3 version

Many Thanks

After a full backup using Mark Skippen's tool kit, is it safe for me to copy the full backup from the PC to a flash drive ?

My Meenova just arrived in the mail --

But I can't seem to pop the cap on the device to reveal the micro male USB. I'm afraid to force it and break it. Any secret you can share to removing the cap?

Thanks.

I use some force to pull it straight out. Don't bend it while pulling

I got my gadget and use a 16GB SDHC Class 10 from Micro Center; it works beautifully No more OTG dongle hanging out
It's worth the $15 investment
