Android 4.1.2 Update Incoming: Landscape Home Screen!

It worked after I restored the OEM build.prop file. I'm now up and running on 4.1.2 & build JZ054K!

FWIW,  Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper didn't stop the flash.  All apps are still available. After the upgrade, I did have to re enable root with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper.

Didn't think I had a copy of my build.prop but I did.

It must have been backed up by ROM TOOLBOX LITE when I enabled the rotation after root.

So, I backed up current, restored old and the flash worked first time this time.

Now running JB 4.1.2. 



I also had to re-enable root after update.

Congrats, CBers.  I saw your request, but was in the middle of washing dishes. I tried to save an unmodified copy of the build.prop file before the flash, but both tries left me with a file bearing today's date (v.  the OEM 7/17/12 date) . IDK if that would pass the test, so it's probably good you found your bak file.

Is this update automatically installed and activated, or is there something I need to do ??

According to the eetimes article, you will be prompted to OK the upgrade.

The upgrade adds camera functionality, radio!

If you're non-rooted, probably in the next 24-72 hours.

@birdastrompgman - can't seem to be able to boot into recovery mode since update.

I believe we need to renamed the \system\recovery-from-boot.p file.

Any ideas how to do that?

I am a little cloudy on what to do. I am rooted and changed my prop file to fix Landscape. I have not received an ota update message but would like to update when it is pushed. Is there anything I need to do or change at this point to get the update?

Looks like I had to re-install TWRP again.

Recovery mode now accessible again.

UPDATE: I'll have to take that back, can't access RECOVERY again.

No, I that WAS OK.

All sorted now, and I re installed TWRP again, and booted into recovery and moved that file.

Can get I to TWRP recovery at will now.

CBers, i'm still unable to go into recovery since upgrading to 4.1.2.. I was using quick boot,  which apparently renamed the file. I just renamed the file, but it didn't work. I will reinstall the app & try again.
