In short I love the case but not so much the colour

In fact the colour is enough for me to not use it and I'm now testing the Poetic Slimline....review to follow

But, does it offer adequate protection against the Nexus 7's Achilles' heel: accidental drops?

I threw mine down the street in a cheap cloth case. I'm using it right now. I think Achilles would be proud of how his body held up.

I like the design. Similar to mine. I like the folio style that doesn't molest you're screen. I like having a little bit of padding on my screen though.

Nothing short of concrete is going to truly protect any electronic device from dropping really.

I haven't dropped it in the Noreve case, but I would say that the "padding" on all the corners and top and bottom would be sufficient to be able to protect your baby
