After trying half a dozen media servers, I have settled on Plex Media Server as the most capable and easy to use application.  The server app on your desktop is free but the Android Client costs 5 bux.  It is a variant of XBMC but has better DLNA / PUnP off the shelf integration. 

Definitely worth taking a look at.

Glad to hear you like Plex.  I love it on my PC/Roku and was looking at the android app to watch my Plex library but hadn't investigated it as a server.
