Oh nice, I got the update. It found it when I went to system settings, and hit check for update.

I wonder why you had to check for the OTA  to get to you?

Hmmm, I see it's sitting there waiting for me to give it the OK to 'Restart and Install'.  But, for sure, if I try that now I'll end up with the dead Andy and a yellow explanation point floating over his open belly.  I somehow managed to receive the last update but I didn't do it in any organized way that I can now repeat without some guidance... hellllp!

Radio,
What recovery are you using? Are you rooted?

I have frozen three apps. I will thaw them and see if that is the issue.

So i want to update my N7.  I have rooted using the nexus root toolkit.  I am kinda paranoid I am going to brick my N7 seeing as currently I have no clue what I am doing LOL.  I was also paranoid when i was rooting it and was sure i was going to brick it. Any help easing my worries would be wonderful.

Ever since trying the update my location services is turned off. When I try and toggle it on it just slides back to off. Weird. Its time for a reset.

Go to recovery (press power & volume buttons together during boot)  & go to recovery.

When you get into recovery there should be a version number.
