Hi,

As noted above,  Tubemate 3rd party app wont install on 2nd or 3rd user profile.
Installs fine on 1st user.

Searched extensively on google for a solution, but none so far.

Doh,  pulling my hair out.

I am very familiar with Android OS , so its not lack of knowledge.

arrggghhh.

Anybody had issues with 3rd party apps on second user profiles on Google Nexus 7.

How are you going about installing it? I'm assuming not through Google play? Have you tried setting the permissions on the apk? Try moving it into the data/app folder, changing permissions and installing by opening with a file explorer.

In second user profiles, the app isn't installed twice, but the app references a second data folder. Maybe copy the data folder from the original profile...

Hi, Thanks for your offer in helping me.

In answer to your questions,,,, the app was copied locally to the nexus to a variety of different folder, using ES File explorer. double clicking or using the install option from within ES the install starts, tell you the usual things it will access, NEXT, it just fails.
I have set the nexus to install 3rd party apps. Not sure where to change options against an APK file.
However this APK installs fine in the primary/first user.

Incidentally i store all my files for everything, on a WD NAS so i access it directly from the Nexus, my HTC phones etc. Also my own PCs. No issues there. This APK file installs on all my other android devices, even my friends Android phones and tablets, who walk in . connect to my wifi network, and copy the Tubemate APK locally, then run it...

It has to be an issue with this second user profile thing.  What else can it be.....

If you do not want to download the application. You can directly access the YouTube video downloader to be able to download videos from youtube for free. That is the best way to replace Tubemate.
