Degrading responsiveness
« on: September 07, 2012, 03:14:23 PM »
The last week or so, I've noticed that my Nexus 7 loses responsiveness after I've used it for a while and the battery is down around 20% I'm not sure if it's a battery issue or a memory issue although I've closed open apps without any noticeable positive effect.

I tend to think it's a memory issue because I can reboot it before it's recharged and that typically restores its responsiveness.

Anyone else run into this? It's more an irritant than anything else but it's a drawback to an otherwise perfect tablet that pretty much has been a really good experience

Sounds like one of the apps you downloaded (or updated) in the last week is bogging you down.  You could try selectively uninstalling the more recent apps you've installed and see if it helps.

It would help if you could identify the CPU hogging app.  Run something like OS Monitor to identify it.  Facebook once turned loose a katana subprocess that ate 37% of my N7's battery usage.  It took my battery down to 6% overnight, and slowed my battery recharge down to a crawl.

Yes, I've had the same issue, but especially have noticed it while reading a book on Kindle . Likewise, problem is solved by turning Nexus on/off.

A simple reboot is a positive thing every now and them, it helps your devices performance by clearing caches etc...

Try doing a soft reset by pressing the power button and holding it until the tablet restarts -Yoshi-

get it all the time - very annoying.  Don't have many apps on and usually on have used one or two when this happens.

Mine does this too every once in a while. I usually notice it while typing in these forums and my letters start to lag. I just do a soft reset and I am back to normal.
