after just four weeks I have fillled up my 16 GB N7.
Just under 500 MB left.
My question. The thing has been getting a bit laggy in last couple of days. Not badly just every now and again. Is the reason that I have used up 97 % of the space on my N7?

SKY GO......... that is the one that is annoying me !!! for our US cousins that is the Apple App that allows us to watch SKY TV, the main and way overpriced UK satelite TV broadcaster. surely they will update this one for us.

This sums up my thoughts. thanks a lot.
No point taking any risks on a new device is there. I was running it a couple of notches below top volume anyway.
Looking at the Booster App is has a "preset" level for rock which seems about 80 percent anyway, so that will probably be the best way to go.

Hi Posters,
All going incredibly well with my month old N7, and the tips and help from the forum.
Suddenly, it is so much more important to me than I imagined possible and this Spurs me on to use it carefully, properly and effectively.
Therefore I winder if I can ask advice on the issue of going for a volume boost and worrying If I am getting a short term gain but maybe damaging the speakers. I installed an App Music Boost EQ and was very pleased to get quite an increase in volume immediately.
So the question is, will this damage the speaker by taking it beyond the preset levels?

One American writer has pointed out that with the new Nexus 7 32 Gb at £ 249 being seen at Staples Advantage and the Mini iPad 64 Gb at £ 529, the crazy situation will be that you can get two Nexus 7's for for less that the price of the 64 Gb iPad Mini.
The ultimate "two for one" offer!

I've had great luck with Battery Defender as well. I love the fact that it give me the ability to mess with the settings, thus giving me the flexibility to tweak until I get it the way I like.
.........but IMHO, I mainly bought the app just to show support. I suppose, in a nutshell, it may be worth the couple of dollars, but it really isn't a deal breaker, ........... I am simply the type of guy who likes buying the donate version to show support for quality apps. ........... I show some gratitude.
fair comment!

For battery life try Juice Defender, been using it since my first Android device. While you can't trust the multipler they supply, logic indicates that this method should indeed increase bat Juice Defender seems great. Thanks. You can see it turning WiFi and the screen back on at times. So logically it has To be saving battery. Says x 1.9 - 2.1, maybe this is optimistic. Question, is it with paying to get the Plus or Ultimate paid versions?

Thanks very much your help and advice.
This does make sense and is all very logical. I assume the large sales of the Nexus 7 and more JB 4.1 devices following will mean they will be forced to update these Apps very quickly.
In fact I have had a message that the ASDA one is now coming up as compatible with our devices.
Thanks the explanaation on side-loading, I had wondered about that.

Hi,
As a disabled person shopping on the internet and getting groceries and Stuff delivered is vital.
Therefore installing the Apps for all the main supermarkets was vital. Very Surprised to find that the Apps for Tesco, Asda and Morrison's all come Up with a message "your device is not compatible". Argos one is fine.
Weird, would have thought compatibility issues would reign only on Older devices not cutting edge, state of the art gadgets like the N7.
Have I missed something? This is so annoying.

Guys I totally understand your frustration but there are ways to manage the storage space in your 16GB Nexus 7. If your rooted then I suggest StickMount for OTG connections and if your not rooted then Nexus Media Importer, have a read of the forum or search because they're are other ways to manage space too.
Fair comment. Maybe I was a bit OTT. Already with OTG cable from e-bay (not rooted), I can access two 16 GB data sticks and my external hard drive. Do like large onboard capacity though.

This throughly pisses me off as I just bought my 16 gig 2 weeks ago thought I was getting a good deal instead of dropping $500 on a transformer 700 but now I just paid the same price as the new one is going to cost
Totally agree Gunner. We have been ripped off. Argos had on their website as a great deal visible as soon as you log on. Now we know they had prior knowledge and it is not a great deal at all. As I have only 1 GB of HD space left I am fed up.

Worked fine yesterdasy and got to 44 minutes now it will not play at all and gives this message.
What on earth is happening ? Was enjoying he spectacular special effects on this film.
