I'm retired, so I've got the time.  But I'm not familiar with Google Hangout.  I don't have a Droid phone, but if Hangout is available through my web/laptop, maybe we can do it.  That's assuming we want our N7s available to play/tinker with.

I just got the same info as diver and samalex.  My N7 is in Louisville, KY and will be delivered by COB tomorrow.

Can you describe what this desktop site option is?  I just switched from FF to Chrome on my Win 7 laptop, & don't miss anything.  I love the speed increase, and Chrome's ability to close non-responding tabs.  FF freeze-ups require entering Task Manager to shut FF down.

My speculation may be a WAG, but the Bay Area is the second largest port for Asian import entries, and Los Angeles is #1.  Assuming Asus makes the N7 in the Philippines or China, N7 shipments will enter one of those two ports, and be stored in an Asus or Google warehouse.  Google and Asus HQs are both in the Bay Area, in Mountain View and Fremont, CA, respectively.  The main UPS distribution facility in the Bay Area is in Oakland, CA, 40 minutes from me.

So, it's a good guess my N7 is in my local UPS station already, and will be on my doorstep tomorrow.

I got my tracking number Saturday morning at 2:14 a.m.  My N7 should have gotten loaded on a truck and made it out of the distribution center Saturday.  If Asus and Google shipped my N7 from a west coast or southwest UPS facility, there's a good chance it made it to my local UPS office Saturday.  UPS doesn't work Sundays (today), so I'm hoping I'll get mine on Monday.

Woot!  Got my email that my N7 has shipped, with UPS tracking #.  The email was stamped 2:14 a.m.  My credit card still doesn't reflect a charge.

I ordered 6/29 @ 11:40 a.m.

Well, I got my UPS tracking number in an email sent 2:14 a.m. this morning, and my credit card hadn't been charged as of ~4:45 a.m.  Your earlier statement is proven wrong, by Catfish's and my experience.

I'm completely disappointed in the videos and reviews I've seen so far of offline Maps.  No one seems to have done any testing or written a description of what the Android screen displays and how Google Offline Maps functions when your location is 200 miles from your downloaded map location.  There's video showing that the map image blurs when you zoom in on cities for which you haven't downloaded data, but nothing about whether you can go off-route and have offline maps usefully get you back on course.

I pre-ordered 6/29.  No charge on my credit card, and no email as of midnight.  I'm pretty sure there are some later pre-orders that have shipped before mine.  It would have been nice if Google had given out its shipping plan.  Maybe mine will ship late because I'm only a shipping day away from Google HQ (and, hopefully, from a distribution warehouse.)

I highly doubt Google is going to refund anyone's shipping costs.  It's essentially selling the 8 GB models at cost, & the reason Gamestop & Staples, et al don't charge shipping is because they're only allowed to get/sell the 16 GB models that have the $42.50 profit margin.

I just got off the phone with Google. I ordered mine at 3:39 pm on 6-27 and my card has not been charged yet. They told me that mine would definitely ship today by 2 day ups and would be delivered on Tuesday 7-17. Somehow, I just don't believe them. I told them I'd like to cancel my order so I can pick it up locally (not really my intention) and they said I could not cancel my order because it's already at ups.

1. Catfish was told his/her N7 will ship today, not that it had shipped.   When (s)he was told that, Google still had 8-1/2 hours of the day to charge his/her account and ship his N7.

2. Charges don't necessarily appear on your credit card account in a timely manner.  A pharmacy charge I made yesterday morning just appeared on my cc account this afternoon.

Unfortunately, no Google charge has appeared yet.

So will the FCC file charges against GameStop?  Why is the FCC delaying the release? Is apple or amazon involved?

The FCC regulates interstate communications.  Google's problem is likely a minor certification issue involving data transmission spectrum specifications.

My credit card just got charged. Hope I can lay hands on it at least by Tuesday next week.

Had pre-ordered mine via play on Jun 27 (8gb).

I pre-ordered mine via Play on Jun 29 (8gb). Just checked, and my credit card hasn't been charged.

Great to hear the Gamestop purchasers are getting their N7s, but that's the luck of the draw for the rest of us.  Could be a Gamestop decision, rather than Google.  For all we know, when the N10 comes out, Gamestop pre-orderers may find themselves at the end of the queue.

As long as I get mine when it was promised, 2-3 weeks from my pre-order, I'll have no reason to complain.  Google isn't responsible to meet my (or your) expectations.

I pre-ordered an 8 GB N7 on 6/29 from the Google Play store.  Checked my current credit card charges just now, and I haven't been charged yet.

Why would they process an order made 3 days later, first?
