I just searched eBay . I can't find the battery. I guess it sold. It was there for 19.95 last night. I am sure there are more  batteries available in that range. Anyone know of a seller?

OP, Call Google Play device support.  Here's the number I called last night at midnight.

To talk to a member of the Google Play team, call 855-836-3987. Our support team is available 24/7.

Weird that the link took you to a drop down. Maybe a location thing. It took me to the phone number.??? Anyway, thanks Bird. Hopefully, you can get some help now.

So, how did it turn out,  OP?

I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow.

I was thinking the same thing. Would be very informative for folks that have bought a Nexus in one "region" and have taken or are planning to take it to another. Questions in this vein come up more and more now and I would love to help to organize a thread or sticky on the subject.

I ended up ordering the 20 dollar battery someone linked to on eBay above, having it sent to my mom, and then having my mom pop another 25 bucks to send it to me.

I guess I will still buy a Nexus since I have just replaced both my 8Gb units with 32Gb ones. Now I have two spare batteries anyways!  :)

I do hate the way it is so hard to get things serviced these days, another by product of our throw away society I guess. It is not practical to fix things anymore, it is cheaper to replace them.
