Why is that? Is it a matter of Google policy?

Looks very nice. There's no mention of an sd slot for additional space. Also hope the power cord will be better located.

Will probably buy, depending on price.

Kingsoft Office is free and can read and edit MS office files. There is also Officesuite though I have not used it.

If you are rooted Stickmount will read a usb connected to the Nexus. There is another app if you are not rooted.

There are many file managers, most are free. The ones I like best are "ES Explorer" which will even let you move files from your pc via wifi, and Root Explorer. But there are many others.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. That's what I thought, even after downloading and trying it.
Thank you for the input.

Hi prime

I long ago purchased and use SwiftKey 4 on both my phone and my Nexus 7 tablet. I know there is a tablet version and don't mind supporting the developer but I have not used it because I can't see an advantage and it lacks some useful tools like the left, right, up, and down keys that I find so useful in the phone version.

Since you use both versions, could you advise why the tablet version is better for a tablet like the Nexus 7?

(One feature neither one has and that I wish they had is a tab key on the main keyboard. It is unfortunately only available two keyboard changes away).

Nexus 7 Help / Texting from wifi Nexus 7
« on: June 20, 2013, 02:07:18 PM »
I have been using Talkatone to text from my Nexus 7 wifi. But lately it has been repeatedly crashing so I'm looking for another app.

Is anyone using "mighty text"? How do you like it and how stable is it?

Any other options that would use my android smartphone number?

Thanks.

Thanks.

But on my device it's empty even though I purchased and installed several apps from amazon.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Date in notification bar?

Or, I should say, I know how to "open" the quick settings by dragging down on it, but is there a way to *add* anything to it other than what is already there by default?
Notification toggle let's me add things.

Simple: I don't know what quick settings are. Could you amplify?

Good point.
(I was trying to build up my purchase total at amazon so I can get free shipping on a nexus 7 case I want to buy from them. <g>)

Could this be the same charger as this one?
http://www.amazon.com/iShoppingdeals-ASUS-Google-Nexus-Charger/dp/B0094JM9HA

With the shipping charge on amazon price ends up being the same.

Found a way to do it and it might help someone else.

As I said, I use "Notification Toggle" - an excellent app. Among its many features, it has 2 'status Icons' on the bar. Either one can be set for day of month, battery level, or battery temperature.

So that solves my problem.

Has there been anything mentioned about the rumored new nexus 7 at the Google I/O?
