I ordered mine about as soon as it showed up on google play during the keynote. Anyone know when they are going to start shipping?
-
I believe the 19th was the earliest date they said they would start shipping.
-
I read 19 and 20th... that is a bummer since it read 2-3 weeks on the 27th of June. Either of those dates are past the promised 2-3 week mark. This is almost as disappointing as not having an SD card bay. I still can't wait.... to play and show it off to all the Apple snobs at work.
-
The 19 and 20 July ship date is for retailers and available in stores in late July. I think pre-orders will start shipping around 14 July.
-
Hope it ships next week as promised.

That is as close as we have come to an actual ship date yet.
I'm still checking my card daily to see if they have charged me. (again) ;) (http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i319/halibaitor/ant-droid_90.gif)
-
From my past experiences with pre-orders, initially you show a pending charge to your credit card, which is removed after a period of time if the purchase does not ship, but the funds are reserved so that the supplier is assured of being paid when the device ships. As was stated, the actual charge will reappear when the device ships.
Reading the order process from Staples indicates shipping between July 12 and 17th when you have the pre-order option selected, but changing the option to Nexis 7 and placing the item in a shopping cart changes the expected ship date to 21Aug.
I don't think that Google will fail to meet a July shipping date and create the customer dissatisfaction that Lenovo did last fall when they were over a month out from the initial ship date for Lenovo direct sales of the TPT. Personally, I think Google realizes the importance of having a good purchasing experience especially for early adopters and that they will make sure they get it right.
-
I keep checking my credit card each day for that charge to reappear. SPrime...what is the order process from Staples? I hope I didn't order the slow way!
A lot of people would not be happy if it didn't ship as promised.
-
If you ordered from Gamestop (at an actual store, not online), I've been told by two different stores, that the first wave of pre-orders will come in July 31st.
-
From what I have seen the fastest option for delivery is to pre-order from Google. Delaying your pre-order eventually eliminates that advantage, since, as was stated, 3rd party retailer should have stock shipped from Google by the end of July and will yield delivery in August. So I anticipate a 3 to 4 week delivery advantage for the $13.99 cost of shipping. Remember that you also get the $25 Google Play credit with your pre-order and Transformers Dark Side of the Moon. Now IMHO, if they would include a remake with Megan instead of Rosie, it would be a deal too good to resist.

Staples is stating on their website that the Nexus 7 will ship between July 12th and 17th if you pre-order it by the 10th...so next week.

-
BFM, is correct, but, as a point of discussion, I could not add it to my shopping cart without selecting the drop down box and changing pre-order to Nexus 7, at that point the delivery date, when I tried it, became 21Aug and allowed you to order from Staples. Part of the anticipation of a new device is the excitement of delivery, so try the Staples order process Here (http://www.staples.com/Pre-Sale-Google-nexus7-Tablet-16GB/product_357216?ddkey=http:StaplesZipCodeAdd#id='dropdown_505733'), and post your expected delivery date. Note you get an expected delivery date by placing the N7 in your shopping cart and do not actually order it.
To me, this is a bit confusing, but confirms the shipping date from Google as 12-17Jul2012.
-
Oops...I missed your post above where you mentioned the Staples dates before. Thanks for clarifying.
-
Now rumor has it that a customer could not cancel his order because it was already in the shipment and delivery cue? If so, then first pre-orders could have a 7 in their hands before next weekend!!
-

this is off the web site, but I just called about my order off of the play web site and they have "no ship dates as of yet" " just at the end of the month" I think staples is ramping up sales then going to blame shipping issues for non delivery, let us know if you ordered it from staples and you get it next week. would suck if retail trumps online preorder. ....." Pre-order your Nexus 7 by July 10th, 2012 to reserve one of these limited quantity tablets. Product will ship between July 12th and July 17th. Expected delivery: 1 - 3 business days, arriving no earlier than July 13th 2011. Your credit card will be charged at shipment" ???

My GameStop preorder is supposed to be in my hands August 7th...
-
I rang Google last week after I had ordered mine as I initially entered the wrong shipping address and needed to change it. While I was on the phone I asked when I could expect delivery. I was told that a delivery date was not yet know but I would definitely receive the Nexus 7 this month. Fingers crossed

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find that out ? Everytime I ask GameStop they claim they will get them July 31st.

I found this while searching http://thereistechnologyforthat.blogspot.com/2012/07/news-of-nexus-7-release.html?m=1 (http://thereistechnologyforthat.blogspot.com/2012/07/news-of-nexus-7-release.html?m=1)

It's in my receipt, and the manager told me that was the date... Receipt actually said something about "2nd wave" then aug 7th...

Interesting, I preordered mine in the Gamestop store on 6/29, so maybe I'm in the first wave. My receipt doesn't have a date or a wave #.

Another thing from staples http://thereistechnologyforthat.blogspot.com/2012/07/expected-delivery-from-staples-3-6.html?m=1 (http://thereistechnologyforthat.blogspot.com/2012/07/expected-delivery-from-staples-3-6.html?m=1)

Looks good!
-
I called Google this morning to ask about changing my pre-order from an 8 GB model to 16 GB. The guy I talked to looked up my 6/29 pre-order date, and said he can't change my order, because it's too close to the ship date, and I'd lose my position in the queue. He said I could make another pre-order, and refuse delivery of my existing pre-order.
This hints that N7 shipping is imminent.
I guess I'll stick with the 8 GB. The apps I plan to load + Google pre-loads should still leave me with 3-4 GB free storage.

Thanks for the update, I never thought to call Google directly. I'm hearing July 12th still on various other forums, which is just 3 days away, so hopefully we'll start getting emails soon enough with tracking numbers.

just a thought, you might have to wait longer for the time being but you might regret not going 16 later if that's what you wanted
-
When my discussion with the Google agent ended, he asked if there was anything else he could do for me. I said no, unless he could tell me the ship date. He said he wished he could do that, and added he's waiting to get his N7, himself.
I should be OK with 8 GB. If it's not enough, I'll give it to one of my kids, & upgrade to a 16 GB model.

I know rumors are flying but in-store this Thursday?
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/07/10/office-depot-expecting-to-have-in-store-nexus-7-stock-by-july-12/ (http://www.droid-life.com/2012/07/10/office-depot-expecting-to-have-in-store-nexus-7-stock-by-july-12/)
Wait and see....
-
Rumors seem to be everywhere. I remember one from 3 weeks ago that said Google already had 600,000 units on hand. If that one was true, wouldn't we be knee deep in tablets by now? Just wondering out loud...
-
I'm still wondering whether pre ordering is a good idea and if I could have got it any faster I had waited to buy it in store. I suppose only time will tell.
-
I preordered in GameStop on 6/29, went there today to put more money down on my Nexus 7 (had only put down $50). So I asked, "when do you expect these things in ?", he looks on the computer and says "looks like in 2 days, Thursday 7/12". I was shocked ! It even says 7/12 on my new receipt !
-
R U serious? That's great.....now you can take it on your cruise! I hope Google pre-orders (me) comes through soon or at least gives us an update?
-
Wow, this is great news... I hoped they would send a confirmation email with tracking number before it was shipped, but maybe they'll drop them in the mail today or tomorrow and surprise everyone.
Wonder who in here will get theirs first :-D
-
I am off work tomorrow and I was really hoping that I would have it. But sadly my card has not been charged yet and my google wallet account status still only shows that i ordered it on June 27th.
I guess my last hope is that they shipped them without letting us know yet, but I find that somewhat doubtful.
Amazon really does have the best customer experience of any website, you find out everything right away.
Fingers are crossed that we hear something today and get it tomorrow!!
-

I saw the charge pending two weekends ago so I thought they had already debited my account, but now that I look it never went through. I guess they did a check to verify the funds were there then pulled it out. My receipt shows they'll charge when it ships, so I guess that'll be my first clue when it's on its way.
-
R U serious? That's great.....now you can take it on your cruise! I hope Google pre-orders (me) comes through soon or at least gives us an update?
Thanks Drew, you're right, I can take it on my cruise. All I have to do now is hide it from my 12 year old nephew. He saw my Kindle Fire, and then got one for his birthday in April. He is sooooo gonna want the Nexus 7 when/if he sees mine. Not gonna get too excited until I have it in my hands though. The guy at Gamestop said 7/12, my receipt says "SD 7/12", which I assume means shipping date 7/12. So that could either means it ships 7/12, or they will receive it 7/12. We shall see.
Even if I get it after my cruise, what a great thing to come home to :-). Hopefuilly everyong gets theirs this week or weekend.
-
been living on twitter for news, nothing yet.
-
I wonder how Staples got such special treatment...

Ebuyer (UK) is saying available from 7/19
-
Just called Office Depot and they said there was a delay and no Nexus 7 tomorrow. I don't know if it is just a "Texas" thing or nationwide. Their order form now says "release date to be determined" and the cart says:
Your Pre-order item(s) will be assigned to an order for future delivery based upon the Release Date.
Staples website says "currently out of stock" and you can't even place an order. When I called Staples, they said they would only fill orders placed online with walk-in stock available only at larger stores.
Not trying to stir the pot, but curious. My order is a Google preorder and so is my neighbor's, but we are tired of sitting in our tents next to the mailbox just staring at each other!
-
Drew, thanks for checking ;) Also good to see someone else from Texas in here.
-
You betcha :) !!
As an update, an article just came out that said all Office Depots were instructed not to sell or even display the 7 until further notice, even if they had it in stock. Maybe Google?
-
It will be interesting to see if "Big G" has not pulled the plug on orders from Staples and Office Depot and if they do not make sure that their pre-orders hit doors before Staples and Office Depot. So if you pre-ordered from Google Play, I would be feeling really good at this point and if you see your credit card charged by tomorrow feel really good. ;D

I just saw this post:
PastorOfMuppetzQ says:
I just got off the phone with google… she said for sure not today but “maybe†this week but for sure by next week…. not sure if that helps anyone…. she also said that although there are stories of stores getting it tomorrow they wont be selling it.

sounds more and more like Google have stalked store's inventory for a wide release but are concious of dedicated pre-order'rs. :) Between this and Google's recent 4.1.1 update, it sounds like Google is getting ready to let their baby go! Can't wait.

I was told the same thing at a New Jersey GameStop. They received a memo stating google does not want them giving out the preorders tomorrow 7/12. The gentleman believed that the release date may be pushed back a week to Thursday 7/19. This makes sense as it gives Google more time to get their preorder shipments out by 7/19 to coordinate with brick and mortar store releases. I will still be calling the GameStop I ordered from in NYC tomorrow 7/12 just to check, since my receipt says 7/12.
-
Saw this post also, preordered mine on the 2nd, no charge yet.
Google charged my card today (7/11/12.) I preordered from the Play Store on 7/3/12. This is not the initial hold they place (that already happened and was released.) This is the real charge – indicating its shipping. Yay.
D1gw33d - July 11, 2012
-
I wonder if they have more 8GB ones available than the 16's and that maybe is the hold up.

I ordered mine from the Play Store on 6/27/12, and they still have NOT charged my card. :(
I ordered the 8gig machine. Which one did you order?
-
I pre-ordered an 8 GB N7 on 6/29 from the Google Play store. Checked my current credit card charges just now, and I haven't been charged yet.
Why would they process an order made 3 days later, first?
-
This was a post from comments on the " The Verge", I still have not been charged from the play store.
I ordered the 16 gig on the 2nd.
-

I thought that meant that YOU had been charged for the tab. :P
You forgot to use the "quotes". I got all excited for nothing. ;D
-
WTH... I ordered mine on the 27th and I have not been charged yet. What is the hold up? That can't be legit.
-
Some people are now reporting that they are trying to change the shipping address but the google rep cant do it because UPS already has them and an e mail should be going out today or tomorrow with tracking numbers.
-
I hope this is true.
-
damn i got excited but just chcked on not on mine either - dont remember when i placed order whenever the keynote was

Just a heads up ladies and gents. Called the Gamestop where I preordered on 6/29 (called on 7/12 at noon eastern). At first the girl said, "oh you can pick it up 7/14", then she said, "wait, I think it's 7/12 which is today". Then she said, "let me first make sure first, so I don't get in trouble". She comes back and says "there's been an undefinite hold on releasing them until they get word from Google". She then said, "I think it'll be next week at some time".
So, that's the story I've been told. I'm not terribly upset, since I was originally told 7/31, so earlier is always better in my book. Though I won't be able to pick it up next week (be on a cruise), I know I'll be able to get it when I get back on 7/22 (I hope).
-
at least we know the stores have already got them
-
Hi everyone,
Been following this forum for a while now and wasting hours searching 'Nexus 7 Ship Date', for any other members in the UK, HMV have said they will have it on sale from Monday...
http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/tablets/hmv-to-sell-nexus-7-starting-next-week-1088722 (http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/tablets/hmv-to-sell-nexus-7-starting-next-week-1088722)
Hopefully that might mean that the Play pre-orders will ship before (tomorrow???)!!
-
I hope so. I been wondering whether us in the UK will get them later than the USA but hopefully it will be the same time.
-
I live in the UK and my order has just been dispatched. Got next day delivery free, so it should arrive tomorrow if all goes well and if their email is to be believed.

DroidMatters is reporting that folks who pre-ordered are starting to get UPS confirmations that their N7's are in transit with tracking numbers:

And I confirmed this on XDA's forum:

I ordered my Nexus 7 on June 27 at 1:47pm.
That "should" put me at or near the top of the list for fulfilling orders.
There has been no shipping notice, and my card has still not been charged.
So what does that all mean? Should I go take another nap for a few days until they figure out how to conduct a business? What's with all the drama?

Maybe they just want to raise everyone's level of concern...
r

Still nothing for me. I ordered on day one.
-
Maybe they just want to raise everyone's level of concern...
You might be right, but they had this thing over-hyped at least 10 days ago. Now all they are doing is pissing people off. They really should be all about getting the N7 into peoples hands at this time. The time for hoopla is long over, it's now time to deliver. At least that's my 2 cents worth.
-
The guy over at XDA who put up that screenshot of his supposed "shipment" has been deleted and proven to be fake.
So basically, no, they did not ship today. We can only hope for tomorrow i suppose.
-

A few stores actually started selling the 7 today as they didn't know (?) they weren't suppose to.
Google found out somehow, told them to halt sales. One store said they might be able to sell them again on Sunday.
I'm guessing Google realized they needed to honor the pre-orders first and made a big mistake by shipping out the tabs to stores too soon or not shipping them to pre-order folks soon enough.
Too bad, but I am guessing we will have them early next week. 3 weeks from the 27th of June would be this Wednesday.
-
I havent seen a single website report that any stores accidently sold some.
-
Correct, it was one physical store, but I am sure they were not alone, you think?
http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/12/3154733/nexus-7-availability (http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/12/3154733/nexus-7-availability)
-
Well hopefully if that store is telling people they can start selling it again on sunday it means that pre orders are hitting doorsteps tomorrow or saturday.
I have lose all faith at this point however. Google really screwed up with this release.
-
I don't see how you can say Google 'screwed up'. They promised 'mid-July' since day one. It's only the 12th. Even if they delivered on the 20th...it would still technically be 'on time'. Patience is a virtue. :)
-

I'll see what I can find out on Sunday. But hopefully by Wednesday this will all be over. That is the max time for their 2-3 week deadline if you pre-ordered day one. And stores are probably chomping at the bit to sell it if they have it. We'll see....

That is indeed fact. I ordered on the 27th as well , so yes, wednesday would be 3 weeks.

hopefully given some of these leaks google will let this go by next week?
-
Congratulations CookieShop! Let us know some of your first impressions with the device when you have a chance.
From what I've seen so far, it's very fast, handles games well and starts up faster than my iPhone 4s. It crashed while I was doing the initial setup, however it's now downloaded some updates and is working perfectly. The only thing that slightly concerns me at the moment is that the gps location appears to be inaccurate. I would have preferred a slightly higher resolution screen, but that's not too big a deal. Overall it appears very well built and worth the money that I paid for it :)
-
Perhaps you'll have to take it outside and walk around a bit for the GPS accuracy to kick in. My phone does that sometimes when I start it up. Says I'm 100 miles from where I am, but once I start moving...it corrects itself.
-

Well that stinks, I was excited when I saw that too :-/
Also Cookieshop, congrats! I was wondering who in here would get their N7 first. But as Babyfacemagee mentioned Google reported mid-July which we're still in, so they'll come in due time.
-
Dont get me wrong, i have no hate for people in the UK. But how in the heck did someone in the UK get theirs before any of us? That makes no damn sense to me.
This is getting really annoying.
-
eBuyer in the UK shipped some out before Google ordered them to hold the rest. She obviously got one of the ones that shipped out early. Same with some that ordered from Adorama. A few were shipped out yesterday and arrived today. The rest they are holding till Google's ok.
-

I'm in the UK and kinda guessed that you guys in the US would get your hands on these first.
I pre-ordered from the Play Store during the I/O announcement and still nothing from Google about my order. Looks like Ebuyer got some stock early and sent it out (maybe before Google could tell them not to?).
CookieShop - Congrats!!!

Dont get me wrong, i have no hate for people in the UK. But how in the heck did someone in the UK get theirs before any of us? That makes no damn sense to me.
This is getting really annoying.

I don't think I will be using Google Play for any device purchases moving forward. There seems to be no advantage.

Interesting

Yup its happening. Either gamestop said **deleted by admin** to google and is beginning to honor their pre orders or google said go ahead and sell. Somehow I think its gamestop making its own decission.
I am officially pissed off at Google right now, they really botched this whole release.

I am loggin into google wallet as we speak and I am going to file a complaint with them and tell them that I am never going to use google play for a device pre order ever again.
They officially screwed up on this release and im pissed. There is a gamestop less than a mile from my house and if I would have known to pre order with them I would have my tablet in my hands right now to use it on my weekend camping trip.
Idiots.

Idiots. If you had gotten it from gamestop would be plugging it in to a tree this weekend? Everyone jumped the gun! Does any one in this world have patience ?

I have a car charger and this trip will be spent in the car driving a lot. Perfect time for a tablet to be used wouldnt you say?
And dont talk to me about patience, the fact that Google botched this up is not even an arguable point.
Apple would never let any retailer sell their newest device before they honored their pre orders

I don't think I will be using Google Play for any device purchases moving forward. There seems to be no advantage.
the advantage was that you did it right and everyone else cheated.

But how do we know for sure they cheated? How do we know for sure gamestop is doing anything wrong? Seems to me that Gamestop is conducting some pretty damn good customer service by honoring the pre-order pick up dates they promised.
-
Unless someone from Gamestop can say otherwise I agree that they're honoring the pick-up dates they promised whether those were set by Google or not which is good all around customer support. As for Google Play, I agree that they dropped the ball on not rolling this out to those who preordered from them directly first. Also sucks that we had to pay shipping when we could've bought it locally for less. I really think they need to at least give everyone shipping back who could've picked one up at a local Gamestop.
Do the Gamestop purchases also get the $25 Google Play coupon though? If so then this is quite frustrating.

Yes, its been shown that basically you get the 25 bucks credit ANYWHERE you buy it, including gamestop.
-
I just sent a message to Google through their Wallet app saying I don't mind that I haven't received mine yet per say but I am miffed that I'll be spending $13.99 for shipping when I could've avoid that and ordered locally instead. The whole point in ordering from Google Plus was with the thought I'd get it sooner than later, but when I could've gone into a Gamespot and gotten it faster and cheaper that's just not very awesome.
So let's see what they reply back with, if I even hear anything from them since I'm sure they're getting flooded right now.

My credit card just got charged. Hope I can lay hands on it at least by Tuesday next week.
Had pre-ordered mine via play on Jun 27 (8gb).

JUST got this text message (fri. July 13)
Got the same text at 10:20am Eastern ! Picking mine up after work. Pre-ordered mine June 29th at Gamestop.
-
Got mine now from GameStop... Manager had to give me a $98000 discount though lol
-

Wait what currency is that again?
-
it's all about expectation. rumors started cropping up about early release and everyone got excited and then frustrated. it's still within google's original estimated time frame, and i never expected to get my own personal nexus any earlier than that. i'm totally fine with the release lol. i don't really care about gamestop acting on its own against google's accord. i just want to be able to store the whole damn us map in the nexus at once
-

I pre-ordered mine via Play on Jun 29 (8gb). Just checked, and my credit card hasn't been charged.
Great to hear the Gamestop purchasers are getting their N7s, but that's the luck of the draw for the rest of us. Could be a Gamestop decision, rather than Google. For all we know, when the N10 comes out, Gamestop pre-orderers may find themselves at the end of the queue.
As long as I get mine when it was promised, 2-3 weeks from my pre-order, I'll have no reason to complain. Google isn't responsible to meet my (or your) expectations.

I hope the manager of the Gamestop where I'm getting mine, puts $98,000 discount, into my credit card ;-). I could use the extra cash for my cruise lol.
-
So will the FCC file charges against GameStop? Why is the FCC delaying the release? Is apple or amazon involved?
-
If you call Google Wallet support, at this time, you will get a message saying, that the first wave of Nexus 7's are shipping today, 13Jul2013, with all pre-orders shipped within 3 business days. I will admit that the $13.99 shipping charge bites at bit, but that will just make me reluctant to pre-order any item in the future. I pre-ordered mine on 06Jul2012 so if I get it next week, I don't have much to complain about from a time of delivery standpoint.
-
Google just charged my card, so I'm guessing I'll get a shipping notice sometime today. 8)
-
wow i guess it's really going out
-

Lol us... For whatever reason at all gamestops the N7 is showing up as $99,999.99
-
So will the FCC file charges against GameStop? Why is the FCC delaying the release? Is apple or amazon involved?
The FCC regulates interstate communications. Google's problem is likely a minor certification issue involving data transmission spectrum specifications.
-

Well, that should cut down on a lot of sales. :P

Same here on the date... they were demoing the Glass Project when I ordered. My card has not been charged yet. :(

Looks isolated, the Nexus 7 was FCC cleared back in May as the 370t, no?
Besides, it is shipping everywhere else.
(Ordered 6/27 at 12:20 pm, still no charge). Not worried, just providing stats!

6/29 7am cst, no charge. don't really need mine for a while though
thought i pulled the trigger on the conference day but i was a little hesitant
-
I just saw Google debited my account, but no word from them via email nor any changes to the receipt in Google Wallet. Maybe soon.
-
Same here; I just noticed a charge on my credit card. Oddly, I have two charges; one from "Google Devices" for the total amount (233.49), and another one from "Google" for $1.00. No update in the google wallet status. I ordered mine on July 11th.
-
Just got my UPS Shipment mail (NJ, USA) :o :) :)
-
My pre-order with Google wallet says July 13 now, but still no charge or email....so I called Google, held for 27 minutes and was told my card had been charged and they were notifying people about shipment in "huge" batches of email. Stated that they are still shipping orders for another 1 1/2 hours and could easily go out tonight without an email until Monday. Should have it by Tuesday.
As a sidenote, I did mention that I was kind of unhappy that I had ordered it on the 27th and people who ordered later were taking their 7's out for a date this weekend. He said the advantage of ordering through them was service. That if I received a 7 that was dinged or missing a pixel, etc. they would send out a replacement in advance whereas a retailer would not have it in stock and I would have to wait a month after returning it. So, a bit of an appeasement speech there. Probably sick of the complaints.
-
Probably sick of the complaints.
And we're sick of complaining...
If they don't want to hear it, maybe they should consider their customers next time, and do a better job of it.
-
Got mine from Gamestop after work (NYC by Penn Station). The cute girl behind the counter was more excited for me than I was lol. So I've played with my Nexus 7 for a bit, and I really can't believe how blazing fast it is (esecially compared to my Kindle Fire). Games download super fast. Dead Trigger looks sick, like an Xbox 360 game. And books and the Transformers movie look amazing on the great Nexus 7 screen. BTW, no headphones included.
-
Probably sick of the complaints.
And we're sick of complaining...

Maybe instead of "sick of" I should have said "needed a remedy for" the complaints. If I get mine Tuesday, it will still be on time (just barely).
Glad you got yours Scott, just in time for your trip....sounds like a fun tablet and worth the wait!
-
My card has been charged but no shipping info. Lame. I'm hoping to have it for my day off Monday.
-
Other vendors spoiled the moment, not Google's fault, they we're sticking to their dates.
-
I got my confirmation from Google this evening, but it sounds like the tracking number was created by Google but the N7 hasn't mailed yet since there's no delivery date. So probably Monday or tuesday for me.
-
Other vendors spoiled the moment, not Google's fault, they we're sticking to their dates.
as of. 10:00pst my credit was charged, but no email as of 11:30.(I guess confirmation of sorts)
-
I pre-ordered 6/29. No charge on my credit card, and no email as of midnight. I'm pretty sure there are some later pre-orders that have shipped before mine. It would have been nice if Google had given out its shipping plan. Maybe mine will ship late because I'm only a shipping day away from Google HQ (and, hopefully, from a distribution warehouse.)
I highly doubt Google is going to refund anyone's shipping costs. It's essentially selling the 8 GB models at cost, & the reason Gamestop & Staples, et al don't charge shipping is because they're only allowed to get/sell the 16 GB models that have the $42.50 profit margin.
-
I have just received my tracking number! Thank you Google! I was getting a little worried... :-)
-
and now it to 2am this morning I can confirm I have a ups tracking number ,now I can be excited ;D
-
Woot! Got my email that my N7 has shipped, with UPS tracking #. The email was stamped 2:14 a.m. My credit card still doesn't reflect a charge.
-
Ordered it on 06/29 and no clue when i'll have it as no email and no change in my CC :( :(
-
When did you guys order? I placed my order about 1:30 EST on the 27th... no tracking number for me. Oh man... I had some apple loving family coming over and I was hoping to have this in time to show them how sweet a Jelly bean can be compared to their over priced rotten fruit.
-

I ordered 6/29 @ 11:40 a.m.

I got my email notification w/tracking at 7:30pm last night (Friday 13). UPS tracking shows no activity other than the label was created. Anyone seeing updated UPS information yet? Or is it going to only update when the thing lands on our doorstep like USPS? :-\
-
I ordered mine on July 11th, and I woke up this morning to find that I had a UPS ship notification in my inbox.
dshizzel:
No UPS information for me either; I've noticed in the past when receiving things from UPS that it can take ~24 hours for the tracking info to appear in their system. I'm not sure if the weekend notification will delay that update in the system until Monday.
-
Ordered 6/28, which came to $227.91. Woke up this Saturday morning and had my UPS tracking number in an email... Yipeee!
-
Holding out hope for a Monday delivery. Unrealistic? I hope not. Ups works round the clock unlike the usps.
-
Talked to guy at local Sam's this afternoon....central AR....said he had them in stick but that Google had put them in hold making them available.
:-(
-
shipped today 7/14/2012
-
I recieved an Email from Google that said they just shipped my Nexus at 1am Saturday the 14th.
No UPS shipping data available yet other than the shipping tracking number.
-
Ordered on the 27th and still nothing :'(
-
Any Canadians get a tracking number/email? I haven't heard anything yet. -> Toronto, ordered June 27, 2012 11:32:58 AM UTC-7

Of you guys who have tracking numbers, have any of you ordered the 8G model, or are they all 16s? Is the 8G model going to be an urban myth?
-

I've got an 8G ordered through G play and I got the email tracking number, but no other info. is available to me at this time.
-
I ordered the 8 GB model and received my tracking number on July 13. I ordered on July 4.

Dont worry guys, there is a very strong possibility that some regions of the country will see delivery tomorrow. My friend who works at a UPS distribution center (yes they work on sundays) says that tracking info isnt available because the source of the tracking info isnt running on the weekends. Monday morning might suddenly show "arrived at local facility" and the next line will show "out for delivery"
What im saying in a nutshell is that your package continues to move even without tracking info being updated on the weekends.
So if you live anywhere near a distribution center, you might be in luck tomorrow. Me included.

Wow, that's great to know! Also does anyone know if the package requires a signature? I'd hate to think mine could sit outside my door for hours until i get home. I'd hate to give a neighborhood kid a free Nexus 7.
-
Usually they don't require a sig. But they may not leave it if the driver feels it would be dangerous. If they have left packages without a sig. before, then they will again.
-
If you check your tracking info in the morning it may tell you if signature is required. Fedex does, but im not sure about UPS.
I am REALLY hoping mine arrives tomorrow as I am off work with nothing to do but watch my daughter play, LOL. I need my new toy!
-
My speculation may be a WAG, but the Bay Area is the second largest port for Asian import entries, and Los Angeles is #1. Assuming Asus makes the N7 in the Philippines or China, N7 shipments will enter one of those two ports, and be stored in an Asus or Google warehouse. Google and Asus HQs are both in the Bay Area, in Mountain View and Fremont, CA, respectively. The main UPS distribution facility in the Bay Area is in Oakland, CA, 40 minutes from me.
So, it's a good guess my N7 is in my local UPS station already, and will be on my doorstep tomorrow.
-
fyi got my tracking saturday, im sure it'll come either today or tomorrow

don't be fooled my ups guy leaves stuff all the time without a signature, make sure you're there tuesday

Mine left Louisville, KY ~4 p.m. their time today.
Delivery COB tomorrow.
-
Mine left Louisville, KY ~4 p.m. their time today.
Delivery COB tomorrow.
Mine started and left Louisville this afternoon also. I thought UPS was in Atlanta, but maybe their shipping hub is Louisville, anyway, doesn't look like they're shipping from Mountain View.
-
It's really not a huge deal, but it does bug me that many people were able to walk into a store (last Friday?) and walk-out with a N7 when I pre-ordered mine two weeks ago and have not received it yet (it comes tomorrow, though). Sure, I could been one of the lucky ones to do that too, but it comes across to me as a little unfair by Google Play. It would have been nice to have my patience rewarded by getting my N7 before the stores were able to sell them. I would be just fine if it came the same day as the stores sold it.
To add a rotten cherry on top, Google Play charged us shipping fees for our pre-ordered N7. I'd rather have the value of the $25 Google Play store credit taken off the price of the unit. By the way, I'll be REALLY ticked-off if I find out store purchasers get the same $25 credit. Obviously, since store purchasers of the N7 don't have to pay shipping then at the very least Google Play should not have charged pre-order people for shipping if the device is going to be sold in stores days before the device is delivered to us.
-
agreed
-
Kentucky is the major hub for all UPS shipping. Just like Memphis is the major HUB for all fedex shipping.
Mine is now in Indianapolis by the way. I have an e mail alert set up to let me know when its delivered, i left a note on my door saying not to take it back to the distribution center.
I will be home at 7pm, cant wait to play with it.
-
I am in the UK. No sign of my order which I placed on July 1st with Play. I think this launch has been handled v badly. The stores here are insisting the Play voucher IS included with store bought devices, so by buying from G/Play I got late delivery and an extra charge (shipping). Will NEVER make this mistake again......
On a more positive note, just installed NavFree on my phone. Utterly brilliant! Will add it to the 'seven' for sure.
-
Ordered my 8gb N7 on 7/13/12 and got a confirmation yesterday (7/16/12) that it will be coming today 7/17/12. Seems REALLY fast to me considering some other peoples experience :) Especially when it said it would ship 1-2 weeks when I ordered it. I live in Missouri and it was sent through the Kentucky base hub.
I hope everyone gets their N7 soon. I can't wait!
-
Mine is "Out For Delivery" from the big town 10 miles away, as of 5:44 A.M. this morning.

Wow. That is quick. I ordered 2 N7's on the 12th and have heard zero from Google Play.
-
I ordered my 8GB on July 11th and it's showing as out for delivery. I wonder if there were fewer 8GB orders than 16GB orders, making the 8GB orders more likely to be filled earlier?

Hooray! Mine just arrived an hour ago. If there's a sound that never fails to bring a smile to my face, it's the sound of a UPS truck pulling up my crunchy gravel driveway.
It looks great; I've flipped through one of the magazines (Esquire) and downloaded a book reading program (CoolReader). It did a system update; currently the screen shows 'Android is upgrading...".

Question for everybody.
Google has said that because they can not verify my ship date that they are willing to cancel both my 8gb and 16gb Nexus 7's. I decided to pick one up at Staples this afternoon, and am enjoying it already. My question is this. Should I keep them on order and resell on Ebay or cancel today?
It seems to me that this tablet has been extremely well received and will be in short supply. I have been watching the closing auction prices on Ebay for a week now and today they spiked up alot, particularly if you offer "in hand" and world wide shipment, they are moving around 75 to 100 over MSRP. Do you think this shortage will get worse over the next couple weeks or is what we experiencing happen often in the first week of a release and the next shipment will take care of any residual demand?
-
I keep checking email for shipping notification, but it seems like everybody except Google wants to send me something. Called Google earlier. After an hour and 10 minutes on hold, was told that I should get shipping notice later today or tomorrow and have N7 by end of week. Rep stated that mine would be processed as they worked through the que, and that they had finished all June orders. I started to mention that I had read of those who ordered after me already getting theirs, but decided to save my breath as it wouldn't change anything. At least he was able to confirm there is no problem with my order and I should have it this week.
-

If the device matches the hype in performance, then they will be hard to find for a while is my take. I think the demand has been building for a really good Android 7 since the iPad was first introduced, and the Nexus has opened the floodgates. Google have clearly been taken by surprise, and so have probably under ordered.
If on the other hand you feel the device does NOT live up to the hype, move on quick :)
-
I just had this from Google in an email:
Hello,
We wanted to send you an update on your Nexus 7 pre-order. We’ve had incredible demand for the new tablet and are shipping them as quickly as possible. All Nexus 7 8GB orders will ship by July 20, and Nexus 7 16GB orders will ship by next week.
I am in the UK.
-
Well Ive had my pants pulled down by eBuyer, this is the email that I got, pretty much at the time when the thing should have been delivered,
"We're really sorry that the order you recently placed for Nexus 7 has been delayed. Unfortunately Asus let us down with a delivery that was due in this week.
We're hoping to have your item to you by Thursday 26th July, but we'll keep you posted if there is any change.
Kind regards,
Ebuyer Sales Team"
It would have been nice to get something before the day that I should have received the bleeding thing. Got to wait a week now, not too happy, oh well.

Credit card SNAFU! Google tried to charge my card Wednesday night to ship it on Thursday. AMEX blocked it, I fixed it within 40 minutes. It was never shipped, and Google people on phone can only tell me that maybe (maybe...) it might get shipped by next week. At first they said it might be another three or four weeks, as if it was like a new order. Then they check with their supervisor and very politely say 'I have good news" their supervisor tells them those credit card denials that get fixed are manually bumped back into que. Actually they have no real insight on my account, and are only hoping it might happen. I am not faulting the people on the phone, they are very nice and as helpful as they can be, but they have no power to do anything except tell me what the consensus of opinion is amongst themselves on when it might ship.
Anybody else being told this also? I ordered mine July 6th, should have shipped by 19th to receive on 20th. I'm still waiting.
The frustrating part is it may take a month??? I fear the worst.
-
Update on my never ending displeasure with Google Play. So it is now the 24th. A full 12 days since I was told by Google Play that the order I cancelled on the 8gb N7and then reordered a 16gb on their recommendation, then retold later that day the 8gb could not be cancelled because it was to late and in the shippers hands is just now getting ready to ship. Ship by the way 2 day rather then the next day promised for all preorders that did not go out last week as promised. I am amazed by the lack of concern for customer service and I am sure they could have cancelled my order and chose not to. Unless things change greatly down the road this will be my last purchase through Google Play for a device. Shame because I am sure the next Nexus phone will be a great one.
Loven the N7 though! ;D
-
So 2 days have passed since GP sent me an email with tracking information for my cancelled N7 8gb that is shipping anyway. Should have been here today and when I track it it still shows that it has not even left yet. This was the most dysfunctional, company when it comes to logistics EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR! >:(
