Nexus 7 Polls / Re: The Nexus 9 Will You Make the Switch?
« on: October 16, 2014, 07:37:43 PM »
@ martyh,  I find myself using my Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10 less and less, giving way to my new LG G3, as my reach for device even in a sit on the couch situation. My much loved Nexus devices, are simply losing ground, to the speed and convenience of the G3, so with the Nexus 9 arriving with a premium sticker price, I am electing to stay with my current solid Nexus devices for the near future.

This is one of the most popular solutions to fix this problem without a factory reset. It is to go settings ->application manger -> all-> and clear data on contact and contact storage in app manager. This will fix the problem.

But... Your data for contacts will be wiped away. So remember to BACKUP!

Since I started the post, I will share my opinion first. I will not be pre-ordering the Nexus 9, simply because with the higher pricing of the Nexus 9, I am not ready to abandon my quite adequate Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10. Rather, I will wait and test drive Android L on both devices and see if I can keep my desire for a new technology toy in check.

Nexus 7 Polls / The Nexus 9 Will You Make the Switch?
« on: October 15, 2014, 02:10:45 PM »
We now know that the WiFi 16 GB Nexus 9 will cost $399 and the 32 GB will cost $479, with the LTE version running even more. This does create a bit of sticker shock compared to the Nexus 7, but the Nexus 9 does have some impressive hardware. Considering that the Nexus 4, 5, 7, and 10 appear to be getting Android L are you ready to make the switch to the Nexus 9? Let the forum hear your opinion.

It is even rumored that Verizon will get the Nexus 6. I do question how well Big Red Greed, will handle the openness of the Nexus platform.

Nexus 7 Polls / Re: Will you buy a Nexus 9?
« on: September 24, 2014, 05:37:39 AM »
If the rumored pricing holds true, with the 16 GB at $399 US and the 32 GB at $499 US, then my technology appetite may be on slow boil, even with the impressive specifications anticipated for the Nexus 9. Personally, I would view the Nexus 9 as a replacement for my Nexus 10 and not for my carry around Nexus 7, especially with the Nexus 7 scheduled for Android L. I fail to understand the marketing strategy on this one, so I don't plan on being an early adopter at this point, but then again my technology pot may start to boil as more information becomes available.

Goto Settings/Accounts and tap Google, then tap your account name, then tap the three fits at the top right and you will see remove account. Adding you other Google account before removing your current account may be less problematic. You may also want to change the Google Play Store settings to reflect the new address as well it is not changed automatically.

Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap settings, scroll to accounts and tap Google, then tap your email address and remove the checks from Google photos and Google+ photos.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: pop up ads

Tiny is correct on this one, it becomes trial and error, at this point. Your other option is a full install of your stock ROM, but I feel reluctant to offer any additional suggestions considering your wishes to have not attempted the factory reset. Stability issues with Android usually come down to apps or the OS, but the user has to accept the responsibility of exploring the options.

Give your device a few hours to finalize synchronization with Google, allowing a few hours after a factory reset works wonders.

I wish that the OP had not reminded me that the original Nexus 7 came out in 2012 and I upgraded to the new version in 2013, and then I realize that it is only 2014.

K-9 Mail is available in the Play Store and has an option to assign a BBC to your email address. If you are not married to your email address, you could consider going to a Gmail of an Outlook.com account, which works like a basic exchange account.
