Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: nexus 7 acting weird

Backup your app data and personal content and try a factory reset. It sounds a bit like some type of malware.

My take is until the smartwatch (Android or IOS) is a stand alone device, it will see limited success.

I will admit that I a bit starved for a new technology toy, but with my eye on a new larger screen smartphone that desire could be satiated, which appears to be a trend that is hurting the tablet market. That said, my Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10 are fulfilling my tablet needs quite well at the moment and I am not sure if I am ready to spend $500 on an HTC. Admittedly I could not wait to get my hands on the Nexus 7 2013 at $250, but if the Nexus 9 comes in at my suspected price point, I will not be as quick to pull the momentary trigger. If i am overcome with the wow of the Nexus 9 and my resolve weakens the forum will be the first to know.

Return under warranty, your pixel issue will only get worse.

A factory reset returns your Nexus to the out of the box state. If you are signed into your Google account and are using Chrome as your browser, your bookmarks are saved and are available when you sign back into your Google account on any version of Chrome (you can test it on any computer or tablet that hasChrome installed). Also, any apps purchased through Google Play will be available when you sign back into your Google account after the factory reset.

What type of music files are you transferring? Mp3 files are easily transferred as you described.

Microsoft has reported that they have pulled 4 recent 8.1 updates due to issues, you may want to remove your recent updates or run  Windows System Restore to a point before the issue occurred.

Search in your browser for Psiphon3.apk. Running the app will allow you to change your country in Google Play. It is not the perfect solution, but it will do the job. There are many YouTube videos on effectively using the app.

Forum Rules / Re: Retiree seeks help with USB on Nexus7

You will need an OTG cable, available from Amazon or eBay. Just make sure that you find one that gets good reviews. Mine works with my wireless mouse and usb drives. I am betting that it will allow your tablet to recognize your USB device.

Most photo editor apps in the Play Store will allow you add caption PicSay Pro or Photo  Studio Pro are two that I use. Note that there are free versions of each app.
