I am assuming that you are using the stock email client, so as a suggestion, try a different email app, like CloudMagic, and see if your issue is resolved, if so then remove your email address from the stock client. This is the link to CloudMagic in the Play Store:  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail

Go to Settings then About and post the information that you find. I suspect that you have a custom ROM.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Really Dead Nexus 7
« on: June 22, 2014, 08:01:44 PM »
@Rob, I can identify with your frustration, but ranking our tablet lower than whale "s___" is harsh and dependent on your personal experience with a single device. I will be the first to admit, that if I were you, I could feel the same, if I had not experienced the abandonment  by  vendors like HTC and Lenovo on other Tablets. Regardless of your device failure, you do have a repair option, as unpalatable as you or I may find it, unlike I saw with other vendors. Thank you, for reaching out to our forum and for your appreciation of the help you received from some of our most dedicated members. Keep us posted on your choice of a new tablet and your satisfaction.

Jim

We may have to wait for 4.5 to see the candy.

I received the 4.4.3 OTA for my Nexus 7 2013 today and the install failed on my Rooted tablet. At this point you will find that checking for updates will result in your system is up to date, even though you are still on 4.2.2. Rather than use the manual method, I elected to use WugFresh's toolkit, and will have to say that if you want an easy upgrade option if the OTA fails on your rooted tablet, that this is the way to go. This Link-Click Here will provide a good guide for any Nexus device.

I have heard of some success with this method. Start with the Nexus plugged into the charger. Then hold down the power button for one minute, then while continuing to press the power button, disconnect the charger, wait 30 seconds, do not release the power button and plug back in the charger. Wait one minute with the power button pressed and see if the Nexus powers up.

I received the 4.4.3 OTA for my Nexus 10 this morning and yes you will lose root. Also, I read on Android Authority that Google released the OTA for the Nexus 7 2012 today as well. I am still waiting on my Nexus 7 2013, even though the OTA has been released. All of the OTA's are available on XDA, if you want to go the manual route.

Nexus 7 Polls / Re: Nexus 8 anyone?
« on: June 03, 2014, 08:46:05 AM »
From what I have read it was strongly believed that the Nexus 8 would be made by HTC, but when reading "What to Expect" at Google I/O articles, we see that the Nexus 10 could be made by HTC and that the Nexus 8 could be made by LG or even Asus. Interesting as it is to discuss, as I/O draws closer, Google has given us a tease with the following image of what appears to be a new table on the Google I/O main page and remembering my HTC Flyer, I can see a strong indication that this device comes from HTC. It is possible that the image has been modified as an intentional misdirection from Google, but only time will tell.

Nexus 7 Polls / Nexus 8 anyone?
« on: June 02, 2014, 03:17:14 AM »
With Google I/O coming up this month and the Nexus 8 apparently a good bet, what would it take for you to move to the Nexus 8?
For me, the major consideration, would be price. My Nexus 7 2013 currently is adequately satisfying my tablet needs, so even if a Nexus 8 surfaces, with great hardware, but a price point beyond $300 US, I would be hard pressed to ditch my Nexus 7 2013 for the Nexus 8. I will admit that I am ready for a new technology toy, but I am spoiled by the Nexus 7 2013 pricing and hardware. What are your thoughts on the Nexus 8?
