Nexus 7 Help / Re: Charged battery

Press the shopping bag in the lower right corner of home screen
Takes you to playstore
Press the search monocle (middle symbol) in upper right corner
Type in "battery widget" in upper left menu
Select a widget
Install and enjoy!

Just press the star in the upper right corner when you're on the page you want to save.  You'll notice the bottom of your home page has three different categories.  Press bookmark and you should see your new bookmark.

Sorry, the way they blurred the top of the pic made it look like it was landscape and why I mentioned it.

It also doesn't have audio....missed it on two points  :-\.   I'll let you know if I find one in future sightings  :)

The good thing is wifi doesn't use much power, my other tab uses 35-40% on wifi alone.  I'm guessing the dock pins will also charge, so should work regardless. (1% is great Ed)

For the N7 I'd prefer that it didn't shut completely off because if I can find a dock that'll let me put it on the nightstand as an alarm clock showing weather and possibly some news, stocks, etc, that'd be amazing.  And if such an app doesn't exist it might be my first thing to write, but only if the N7 will stay aware when it's in standby mode, unlike the Fire.

Sam, didn't know if you found a dock, saw this one the other day.  It says it works with or without a case.

Not sure about status.  If you click on "Notify me when product is back in stock", they'll send you an email.

And "modify", which I am the king of between my spelling and word correct.

66
I don't get why you'd need a protector for the BACK of the Nexus 7...

The whole skin is if you want the back of your tab to look different.

67
Skinomi is very cool.  They make "whole" skin protectors to make your N7 stand out!

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Beginner Question on Installing/Uninstalling Apps

It's tied to your Google account.

You could also use a backup app saver like "App Backup & Reinstall" or "My Backup Pro"

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Album creation

Hey Phil, the only way I know is by an app such as Foozer, Quick Pic.

Or you could use Astro or ES Explorer (which will work with all your files) but it's hard to see the picture with those, just the filename.

Maybe there is an easier way, but that's all I know of.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Battery stats

Live wallpapers definitely shorten battery life.  That percentage for screen still just seems large.  Oh well, thanks for response, I'm leaving it alone  ;)

Hmm...I thought wifi took up 30-40%, and screen another 30-40%, so why so little on wifi and so much on screen with N 7?

Thank you for the input.

Nexus 7 Help / Battery stats
« on: July 21, 2012, 11:07:51 AM »
When I go to "settings" and "battery" my N7 shows 88% for screen.  I show nothing for wifi, even though it is on.

Anyone else show these stats?  Just curious.

73
Yes, thanks coolbreeze, a great app.  Now if we could get the lock screen to obey, then we'd be golden.

74
That's unfortunate.  I know it's a pain, but maybe call them and get a good track number so you can at least know where it is.

Hope you get it for the weekend!

75
... let's the  user disconnect wifi during sleep. Since the screen is off, your two biggest battery hogs are off.  Maybe the 7 has that setting or part of JB?

Yes, it does - get the Nexus 7 Guidebook, where you'll find all sorts of help (free from Google Play.)

My entire quote was:

Hopefully getting 7 tomorrow, but I know my other Asus tab has an option in settings called Asus Customized Settings.  It let's the  user disconnect wifi during sleep. Since the screen is off, your two biggest battery hogs are off.

Maybe the 7 has that setting or part of JB?

The N7 does not have the Asus Customized Settings.  Maybe I missed it, but the manual does not show where you can disconnect wifi during sleep.
